About Fast Forward

Our Mission: To enhance the physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being of all who enter our doors.

In the United States, there are approximately 400,000 people diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Over 2.5 million have been diagnosed with the disease world-wide.

In September, 2003, Fast Forward began offering a supervised fitness program designed to address the needs of those with multiple sclerosis. The program is meant to be an option for those who have completed their required physical therapy and who wish to continue with a long-term program that addresses their unique needs.

The program is built to assist in those areas that all with multiple sclerosis share: loss of strength, balance, coordination and mobility. The program is tailored to meet the needs of those with varying disabilities. Small group and individual training is offered.

Individualized programs are available to ensure your unique fitness objectives are met. Conditioning programs for athletes , fitness programs for home-schooled children, and adult classes are also available at Fast Forward.

The environment is non-intimidating, and the staff is experienced in working with the disease. Our goal is to provide a comfortable and safe atmosphere for those attending the classes. 115 people afflicted with multiple sclerosis have attended the program to date. Each month 50-60 attend the exercise sessions either 2 or 3 times a week.

The program, although exercise based, has developed into a non-published support group for those that attend the workouts. All participants share a common bond, that being multiple sclerosis. Multiple sclerosis can take you on somewhat of a roller coaster ride. There are the high points where the symptoms of the disease are less severe. Other times, the symptoms of the disease are extreme, which can affect your mental and emotional well being. Sharing both high and low points with others is extremely therapeutic.
